CLASSIFICATION OF RUBBER PROFILES ACCORDING TO THE STANDARD SIST EN 12365

The standards SIST EN 12365, stemming from 2003 and being valid in the whole region of EU, define properties of gaskets and weatherstripping inbuilt in building furniture. The foregoing standards are technical documents, linking producers, middlemen and users (builders) in precise definition of requirements on mechanical properties of gaskets and weatherstripping for doors and windows. At this, by its reliable and credible measurement results, the Laboratory helps designers, as well as producers (regular process control), trade (verification of declared specifications) and final users of the considered elastomeric building elements.

The family comprises four units:

SIST EN 12365-1: Building hardware. Gasket and weatherstripping for doors, windows, shutters and curtain walling.
1. Part: Performance requirements and classification (introductory, descriptive part with classification tables),

Comment: EN 12365-1 serves to classify, in cooperation with the order placing client, the examined product according to the foregoing classes, based on measurement results from other three standard items and expected application conditions (seal type, subsidence or deformation and temperature range).

SIST EN 12365-2: Building hardware. Gasket and weatherstripping for doors, windows, shutters and curtain walling.
2. Part: Linear compression force test methods

SIST EN 12365-3: Building hardware. Gasket and weatherstripping for doors, windows, shutters and curtain walling.
3. Part: Deflection recovery test method

SIST EN 12365-4: Building hardware. Gasket and weatherstripping for doors, windows, shutters and curtain walling.
4. del: Recovery after accelerated ageing test method
