A specimen (profile) of certain length, usually 100 mm, is installed into window frame channel, fastened to a dynamometer. In agreement with the client, the profile is deformed to a certain strain value – working span corresponding to profile deformation of closed window. The force value is read after thirty seconds of relaxation at the second working span deformation. This force, given per unit length, is termed the linear compression force. Testing is carried out by a sensitive force-measuring cell of the 150 N nominal force range and 0.5 N precision class, the displacement resolution of the loading piston being 1µm.
